There are a lot of treatment options. Some medication (it is an anxiety disorder) so some SSRI antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications can be helpful. But most helpful is intense therapy/counseling. PTSD survivors have to work THROUGH the trauma. Medication alone won’t help much.

This is a true or false question and I am not sure what it means. Does it mean that a depressant drug can be used to help suppress the withdrawal symptoms of cocaine since it’s a stimulant?

false by the time it took you to get a correct dosage and tolerance built up by the antidepressant you would have came down

Do not confuse “abuse” with “dependence.” Most folks think it’s no big deal if they take anti-depressants, cholesterol lowering drugs or high-blood pressure medications every day (dependence). But as soon as someone says they take Xanax or Valium or Vicodin everyday, there’s a whole different attitude about it.

All drugs are not alike. Some drugs, such as aspirin, are milder than others. Many drugs are mind-altering, and therefore more dangerous. It is always best to have a doctor monitoring your useage, including over-the-counter drugs.
