Schedule 1 Narcotics List Says “No Accepted Medic Use in USA” but Marijuana Is on the List? Confused?
Question by Dan Kor: Schedule 1 narcotics list says “no accepted medic use in USA” but marijuana is on the list? confused?
I am reading in my text book it said Examples of schedule I narcotics, and I found Marijuana on it.
It also states that “No accepted medical use in the United states and possesses an extremely high potential for abuse”
But for california, it is a medical use, and it is in the United states obviously. So i did research and all webistes say weed is on narcotics I list…
Can anyone explain to me thanks
Thank you very much, but so
Lets say if you have a medical card in california, and you carry the legal amount, they would not arrest you state wise, but you can do time for federal prison?

Because it was added to the Federal Schedule 1 list a LONG time ago, and it would take Congressional action to change that.

It came about in the 1920’s (I think). Mexicans were being persecuted, and they were synonymous with marihuana, so the ‘demon weed’ was classified as a schedule 1 in order to punish Mexicans more severely than they should have been. Marijuana also made black men get the screaming thigh sweats for white wimmen.
