If I Were President and I Offered to Cut Defense Spending by 25% Next Year, and Return to Pre-Bush Tax Rates..?
Question by The Solution: If I were President and I offered to Cut Defense Spending by 25% next year, and return to Pre-Bush Tax Rates..?
would you Accept a 10% Cut to ALL Social Spending Programs?
A why or why not would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I wanted to add some Numbers to go with my Offer.
$ 221 Billion Cut from Social Programs.
$ 220 Billion Cut from Defense.
$ 78 Billion added in Revenues (Income, Corporate and Cap Gains back to Pre-Bush)
That would make the Deficit Projected in Mr. Obama’s FY 2013 Budget would decrease from $ 1.3 Trillion to $ 780 Billion.
Thanks for all the Helpful Input, from both sides.
Yes, I think, from personal experience in Both the Military, and personal life, we COULD make up the Cuts from Some Hard Work Eliminating Fraud Waste and Abuse.
As far as the Tax-Cuts, I am Republican, I appreciated the Cuts when they happened, but a RESPONSIBLE person would have Re-Instituted the OLD Rates when we STOPPED having a Yearly Surplus.
Just my Fiscal Attitude in Life and as it should be in Government, as well.
Thanks again, I will pick a Best Answer as soon as the Option Pops up.

I’d rather we cracked down on “abuse” of the social services. There are people that truly need the system and we need to weed out those that are abusing it.
Answer by Return of Bite My Shiny Metal…
The pre-Bush tax rates will push my tax rate back up. So no, I won’t support your plan. I’d just end all welfare programs, period. Either get a job or starve. The second thing I’d do is muster the military and remove every single illegal alien; by force if necessary, from this country.
