Hidden compartment in drug suspect’s car – New Bedford Police said they found a hidden compartment in a drug suspect’s Volkswagen Jetta. The compartment is behind the instrument panel and opened by a series of electrical triggers, Lt. Jeffrey P. Silva said. Inside the compartment Police found three guns, heroin and crack cocaine packaged for sale on the street, just over 00 and a digital scale, Lt. Silva said. The car was driven by a man who’s identifcation said he was Angel R. Olmeda, 29, of East Providence, but preliminary investigation shows that Olmeda may actually be an illegal immigrant from the Dominican Republic, who has previous drug arrests, Silva said.
