Im scared to be there “Forever”…but i dont thikn im ready to come out yet. I still go thru withdrawn some in the A.m. before my dose.It has saved our relationship and family.this clinic. so im glad for that. but can it do more harm then good in the long run? should we get into counceling? any one with any info im all ears! i kno what the ppl say at the clinic, My dr. and nurses and stuff. I have not been there but an addiction is more about personality than the physical addiction…once your body gets over craving the drugs, your mind still wants to participate for any reason at all…….you need help to stay on the path now and for a very long time until you can react normally to stresses in life.please do it for your kids, they deserve it.

Well first off, while you will not stay in a rehab clinic forever, you will however be in “recovery” for the rest of your life. Your brain has had a taste of those addictive drugs and to a certain degree it will always want it. But as far as your question of how long to physically stay at a treatment center. That is something that no one here can answer for you. You and your counselors/doctors, etc need to discuss this. Everyone is different. Some have harder times and others have easier times being sober. I am so glad you and your husband found the strength to live sober! Congratulations, and keep it up!!
