Crack babies do not crave drugs as they get older. They are born addicted to drugs and go through withdrawal when they are born since they are no longer getting the drug. Not sure if they are more likely to get diseases. Their immune system probably takes longer to build and isn’t as healthy as a breastfed baby’s immune system. The mother obviously wouldn’t be allowed to breast feed since she had already addicted her baby to drugs. They don’t need drugs to survive when older. They will most likely end up a healthy child and a healthy adult. However, withdrawal is a hard thing for anyone to go through, and terrible for a newborn since they have no immune system when born.
