Connotation:
1. An idea or feeling that a word invokes for a person in addition to its literal or primary meaning.
2. The implication of such ideas or feelings

For example: The term “drug abuse” has a much more negative connotation than “drug use”.

It’s like your implying something more in your statement in addition to its literal meaning. Like something emotional. For example, “You are a dog.” Logically, It means you’re lazy rather than you really look like a dog.
