Are There People Who Trade College for Mix Martial Arts?

Question by Enthusiastic: Are there people who trade college for mix martial arts?
After 21 years of my life and 2 years in college broke, I felt like I want to try a Gracie Jujitsu class. I’ve always had this desire but people always look at me like the competition I want and need is school but they were wrong. I basically spend time watching countless of fighting films and other sports yet I was never an athlete. Today, I will do the thing I want to do without any regard.

Yes.

And they are usually sorry for it, as MMA is a sport where you don’t make much money, the chances of making it big as almost as winning the lottery.

Also, bear in mind that training in Gracie jujitsu is not training MMA.

I would suggest you try the gjj and train in it, but do not make a career choice on it just yet. You would need few years of training before you can go pro anyway, so you really can’t make it your career yet anyway. As it was stated before it’s not a well paying job, and I’d expect that starving artist has a better chance than the average mma fighter at a decent life. Also once you start rolling you start realizing how far you are from being the best in your own gym let alone becoming good enough to beat other star fighters in a small scale events.
