A Question About Getting My Novel Published?
Question by DJ: A question about getting my novel published?
I’ve written a novel that doesn’t fall under a particular genre other than Fiction. It’s a bunch of short stories but the characters are all connected in one way or another. (characters are urban teens and young adults dealing with substance abuse, sexuality, life, love etc. ) Anyways, question is, what should I do with it once my manuscript is complete? What kinds of agents/ publishing houses take on novels like these? Thanks!

There are plenty of agencies that will handle something like this, since it’s fairly general. If it’s well written and interesting, anyway. You’re just going to have to do a lot of research and find places to query. Search for “general fiction literary agencies” on google to start with.

If most of the characters are young adults and teens, then you might start with YA agents.
