What Does “chron” Mean on the East Coast? What Is It? I’m Worried About My Friend?

Question by Autumn: What does “chron” mean on the East Coast? What is it? I’m worried about my friend?
Some sources say it’s just potent high-quality marijuana while others say it is marijuana which offers such great highs because it contains COCAINE.

My friend’s away message (we have drifted apart a bit; I don’t do any drugs) on AIM simply says “chron.” I know she’s talking about drugs because she always puts away messages up like that (for example: “Smoking a dutch [weed cigarette]”).

Now I’m worried that she has moved on to stronger drugs and will get hooked or something worse… death….

Yesterday she posted in a Myspace bulletin that her and a friend of hers were about to smoke/do Salvia, which is very strong and trippy stuff.
(I don’t know this because I stalk her; I’m her friend and her AIM status and Myspace bulletins appear on my screen from time to time)

So my question is: What is “chron”? Since she’s doing chron and salvia, does that mean she’s moving on to stronger drugs? And most importantly, should I be worried?

Relax.

There’s so many urban legends about what goes into certain marijuana.

Cocaine, LSD, heroin, meth, PCP. They all have an urban legend.

Chronic, where I’m from, is just another slang term for marijuana. It doesn’t mean it’s any more potent or that it contains any other drugs. It’s just like “pot” “weed” and “mary jane”. It’s just a name with no real meaning.

Weed and salvia aren’t addictive, so she’s better off doing those than other hard drugs. Chances are if she’s just doing salvia and weed, she won’t do any hard drugs.

I’m from the East Coast. NC/VA border line.
