Question on the Affects of A.D.D. Medication and Bipolar Medication?
Question by shy.rebel.27: Question on the affects of A.D.D. medication and bipolar medication?
I’ve heard multiple times that bipolar medication and medication affecting seratonin and dopine tend to “shave the edge off” the emotions of the patient taking them. My friend says she notices a significant difference between her writing on meds and her writing off them. I know very little about A.D.D. and the medication for it, as is why I’m asking a question like this. Does A.D.D. medication affect a person like this, “shaving the edge off emotions?” I will continue researching the topic, this is just part of it so please nobody go off telling me how I’m ignorant in this area because that is why I’m asking in the first place. So far all I’ve really found is an article about children’s meds giving them hallucinations about bugs.

dexatropomine and amphetamine salt combos dont “shave the edge off”, they cause the brain to focus and the stimulates will only work for people whose brains naturally produce the chemicals at a “un-normal” level. most medications used to treat add and adhd, are stimulate class 2 narcotics (very similar chemical structure of that of methamphetamine) but no where near the potency that the street drug has. it helps by leveling out the scatter braininess feeling. the reason it is a class 2 narcotic is because for people who don’t have a valid prescribed reason to take the drug, it acts as a stimulate similar to cocaine/meth. the bugs feeling is a major side affect with cocaine users, “bugs crawling under the skin” but they aren’t really there, the people feeling like this have too high of a dose and need to come down a few mg, and the side effect should dissipate.
